TGIF and I really mean that! So glad the weekend is approaching. Paige and I have been busy bees getting ready for a quilt demo at one of our local quilt guilds. We will be at the McHenry Country Quilters Guild on April 4th. Come see us if you can. We will be showing off all the new fabrics, doing a trunk show and a demo on English Paper Piecing and machine pieced hexagons. We’d love to see you!
Speaking of the newest fabrics that I’ve had the pleasure of feasting my eyes on
This is Hello Gorgeous from Windham Fabrics. Playful mod prints just in time for spring!
Speaking of playful…Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches latest line came in last week called Folk Tale. Lots of woodland creatures, cute hedgehogs, birdies and fairies. I just love her stuff. Definitely check out her blog for inspiration, especially if you’re an embroiderer like myself.
Geeky Chic from Riley Blake has me pretty stoked to make something fun. Like a bag or placemats from the TV fabric. Very retro..
I’d love to hear your ideas on what you think these Riley Blake fabrics would be cute made into! Leave a comment with your idea and I’ll draw a name for a giveaway with a half yard of each Geekly Chic we have. Fun stuff peeps! I look forward to hearing them.
Giveaway runs from Friday, March 22 thru Thursday, March 28th, 2013. I’ll draw and announce the winner on Friday the 29th.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend everyone!

I have been looking at that fabric for a while…I think it would look great for smaller things like a cushion cover/s or iPad/Kindle covers. I was thinking the bottom two would be a great for storing music media like, cd case with an iPod case for my husband’s new car.

I’m always making travel accessories (my sisters and I travel a lot, for work and for fun)! I use fabric I can’t bear to part with to make my own travel accessories (eep). :)

This fabric is so delightful. I’d love to use it in a charm quilt for my granddaughter just to see if she would recognize anything! On second thought, I’d probably appreciate the quilt more, for it’s retro fun. I think the fabric would also make cute pajamas, pillows, and covers for electronic devices. Thanks for this generous and fun giveaway opportunity!

My first thought was travel accessories too. The eye glasses would be a great kindle cover, the TVs for a laptop sleeve, cassettes for a great boxy toiletry tote with oil cloth lining and the records for a tiny iPod/earbud pouch. I would totally rock a skirt made from either the glasses or the cassettes.

Tonya, you go girl! I love the skirt idea! We just saw a dress made with that and the eyeglass material was the belt and collar! ..very cool!

I think I’m going to have to make a pouch for my small sewing tools with the glasses fabric–so I can see it all the time! Love this line.

This fabric would be so cute turned into a quilted purse or camera bag for my sister-in-law’s photography business! “Geeky,” yet some very trendy/hipster! Love it!

That Geeky Chic is so fun….thanks for the giveaway! I would definitely be making tote bags for my kids and overnight bags for my granddaughters, with lots of pockets using all those prints. I’m also envisioning curtains for the little basement windows in a retro tv room….oh, the possibilities :)

I love the fabric, especially the eye glasses. I have an old dressing table bench that has a padded seat top that I think would look great covered with this fabric.
