It’s only fitting that I am lucky enough to make the Duck Row. After we arrived home from Spring Break, a mama duck had made a perfect little nest in the bush next to our stairs. I checked on them everyday to see if they were safe or had hatched. The Duck Row is a little reminder of the guest we had this year!

I combined Elea’s lines, Strawberry Biscuit and Milk Sugar Flower into my blocks and used Riley Blake’s Aqua Swiss Dot as the background.

The row has 5 baby ducks and a Mama, so there were a lot of pieces. The Alphabitties I had came into good use keeping track of them. Otherwise, I know I would have wasted tons of time trying to figure out the dimensions and placement.

The blocks went together easily and I was finished in an afternoon. And I must say that I’m super pleased with all it’s quacky cuteness!

We’re almost finished! Next week are the Borders & Finishing with Kristin. And don’t forget to visit all of the other blogs for your inspiration to quilt along.

It’s never to late to start! If you’d like to have your own copy of Pretty Playtime Quilts or the kit to make the Garden Fairy Sampler Quilt, you can find them at the Fat Quarter Shop.

Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for asking me to participate in the quilt along. I enjoyed it!❤️

Block 13✔️ Bee-Romantic is the reason why I fell in love with this quilt along…my obsession with vintage bicycles with a basket full of flowers!

One more pic…The basket was done with a basket weave stitch just in case you’re wondering.

Block 14✔️ Bee-Good. Yummy honey. I honestly eat honey straight from that squeezable bear!

Block 15✔️ Bee-Courageous. Go for it kitty. Grab that cupcake. You only live once!

Block 16✔️ Bee-Sunny. Go fly a kite!!

Only 4 more blocks to go🐝

We’re being invaded…by cute animals taking a ride above the neighborhood in planes, saucers, and balloons! Seeing Stars is back in stock and kitted in a Riley Blake design called ‘Little Flyers’. The fabrics are perfect for this pattern. Just like the fabric says…it’s awesome!

Machine appliqued planes soar through this quilt among half square triangle (HST) stars. The smoke trails are hand embroidered in different colors using a straight stitch to add that special touch to the baby quilt.

HST’s are made using the Spinning Star papers to give you perfect half square triangles every time! You can find a quick demo HERE on the papers.

Quilt measures 45″ square. Kit includes instructions, the HST papers, fabric for the quilt top and binding. Batting & backing are NOT included. The kits can be found in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop.

Happy Christmas is July! A great way to beat the heat is sewing of course and that’s just what I’ve been doing. Sherri Falls from This & That has a new book out which features lots of fun project ideas and to help you get excited and creative, Fat Quarter Shop is having a blog tour which I’m super excited to be a part of.

I made the sweet mini quilt from the Holiday Wishes book called ‘Comfort And Joy’. Measuring only 16″x20″, it’s the perfect quick fix to those summertime blues:)

Knowing full well that the smaller your project is the more precise your work needs to be, I took my time. I cut it out one day, and the next I pieced it toghether. My suggestion is get yourself some Alphabitties. These cuties keep track of all the pieces for you. You don’t want to waste time remeasuring while you work.

It went together in a couple of hours and the instructions were easy to follow.I used Tasha Noel’s newest fabric line Pixie Noel. I cannot resist those adorable kissing bunnies💞

After Paige quilted it, I added the sweet crochet trim my mom made for me around the binding to add a little more cuteness to the quilt. It’s all in the details, right?

I’m going to enjoy my mini for the week, then it’s off to someone special who I think deserves some Christmas cheer…

The Holiday Wishes book, Alphabitties & fabric can be found at Fat Quarter Shop and don’t forget to hop on over to the other bloggers today, which can be found HERE, to see what they’ve created from the book. Happy sewing everyone!

Buzz on over to Moda Bake Shop and quilt along with me and many, many others as we stitch up some of these adorable embroidery blocks from Pamela Morgan from My Sweet Little Stitches.

She’s the newest baker on the block and she’ll be releasing 20 blocks over the course of the summer until late August. Each block includes a sweet Bee and a cute theme. I was sold on this idea when I saw the bicycle with a basket of flowers block. I’ve already finished 4 of my blocks so far.

My CLMQG friend, Sharon, got me all excited about these blocks! Isn’t that exactly what good quilty friends do!?!

I’m using Riley Blake’s Backyard Roses fabric for my blocks. I haven’t exactly cut the fabrics yet but I’m auditioning them as I go along by photographing my stitchery on pressed fat quarters. It’s lookin’ pretty sweet so far!

If you decide to join in on the summer fun, be sure to post your blocks on the Bee-utiful Quilt-A-Long FB group and on Instagram with the hashtags #beeutifulQAL.

Block 3 Bee-Lovely

Stay with me this summer while I Bee-creative🐝🐝🐝!!

SewMod is revamping all our patterns. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be showing off some new samples I made for the covers and the one I’m most excited about is Sassy Strollers. I didn’t think I could find any cuter fabric than the original one I had made but oh how I was wrong.

I’m a huge fan of Elea Lutz’s work and when the news of Strawberry Biscuit hit I was all over that in a heartbeat ❤️. Rarely do I order complete lines of fabric. Let’s face it, I want to, but my budget here at SewMod does not allow it! But I had to do it this time. I just had to. It’s perfect for the Sassy Strollers pattern cover and kits.

I really enjoy anything I can combine my faves into…applique & embroidery. Isn’t this just the sweetest?! Strawberry cake and the cute little bear riding a turtle. Oh my goodness.

Sassy Strollers comes in three different color ways with your choice of borders along with a patchwork backing that coordinates with each print. The pink color way comes with a blue binding shown in the quilt photos and the gray & blue option has a red floral binding.

Hard to choose your favorite right? Whichever one you go with will be gorgeous. No doubt!

Paige did a fab job quilting it for me.👏👏

Complete kit includes all of the fabric to make this bundle of joy except the embroidery floss and batting. Quilt measures 40″ x 40″. You can find the pattern, KIT, select fabrics from the line and fat quarter sets in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop.

Have you seen this super cute book by Elea Lutz making its way around social media? Are you just waiting to get your hands on it so that you can make every time a ‘Pretty Playtime’? Well I sure was! So you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to participate in Fat Quarter Shop’s Pretty Playtime Quilt Along! Eeek!

So here’s the scoop and I hope you’ll head over to Fat Quarter Shop to get your book and kit and play along with us. Over the next 16 weeks, several bloggers will be choosing a block from the Garden Fairy Sampler and showcasing it every Monday. So mark your calendars!

Starting first on the tour, May 23rd, is Erin Cox from Why Not Sew. She will be stitching the Dragonfly.

I’ll be showing you my block on August 22nd. I’ll be sewing the ducks. Adorable, right?!?

I’m really excited to be a part of this sew along and share it with you too.

The book, kit & fabric line is available at Fat Quarter Shop. Hurry over to get yours now. You don’t wanna miss playtime!

New Clambake kits are ready to go. The last Clambake was a big success and you have shown me that you’re not intimidated by curves. That they’re actually pretty simple!

I used Jeni Baker’s line from Art Gallery, Curiosities. “Inspired by the many small wonders in life, Curiosities invites you to explore the world around you. A sophisticated color palette with a vintage twist transports you to a whimsical garden. Curiosities is dedicated to Jeni’s bunny George, who is ever curious.“-Art Gallery

Aren’t these little bunnies the cutest?! It’s the perfect quilt to get your spring mood going.

Paige did some fabulous quilting for me. Swirls in the borders and a sweet pop up flower in each clamshell.

If you remember from the last Clambake post, all of the clamshells are easily attached to the top border, glue basted on and top stitched with your machine. No pinning. No hand sewing!

Each fabric from the line is used in the quilt. The border is a teal pressed flower. The binding is a navy dragonfly. Clambake measures 55″ x 62″ and is a perfect lap quilt.

Kit includes all the fabrics for the quilt top, binding and the pattern. As always, I try to share useful info to ensure a successful sewing and quilting experience, so helpful tips and tricks are posted on this blog post HERE.

Clambake KITS, PATTERN, and APPLIQUÉ KIT can be found now in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop.

And you can also find all of these plus the Curiousities line at our upcoming show in Napierville for the Riverwalk Quilters Guild.

We hope to see you there. It’s going to be a great show!

Ok, one more baby kit. Ok, maybe another one very soon but let’s just start with this one. It deserves a post all on its own. It’s so stinkin’ sweet it makes my teeth hurt!

This is Elea Lutz Milk, Sugar, Flower line from Riley Blake. I ❤️❤️ her fabrics soooo much! MSF is reminiscent of vintage fabrics and nursery decor. Sweet and full of cottage charm. Magpies, strawberries, & little bunnies and kitties all rolled up into my most favorite line of hers yet…at least until the next one comes out in April. And let me tell ya…I’m pretty excited about that one too!

I figured what better way to show off these prints than in the Lucky Stars quilt pattern by Atkinson Designs. I’ts scrappy, just they way these fabrics would have been back in the day.

This pattern is super simple too. And don’t forget to check out the blog post I wrote about an easy way to square up your stars without the fuss. You can find that by clicking HERE.

Goodness, I just love retro and 30’s prints…The stars set on an aqua dottie background. I think that extra touch makes it feel even more vintage.

This KIT can be purchased with or without the backing fabric. With the backing included, you’ll recieve a complete quilt kit, the fabrics for the top, the pattern, backing & binding. Each option can be found in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop.

Even better is that this quilt finishes to a child’s lap quilt, measuring 45″ x 60″. So that means the quilt will be with them from baby to toddler to child…a keepsake. Or if you’re like me, you’re keeping it for yourself!!

Daisy even loves this quilt!

Create your handmade heirloom for a special little girl!

Rodeo Rider kits are saddled up and ready to ride off to a special rootin’ tootin’ baby!!

I made this popular Backyard Baby pattern in two color ways…pink for the Cowgirl & blue for the Cowboy. I love the swirls and stars quilting Paige did for me.

Tossed horshoes and cowboy boots are scattered among stars, horses and hats. This western quilt kit is sure to please that lil’ babe. Use it as a stroller blankie, crib blankie, or nursery decor.

These would be a perfect shower gift for twins!

Each KIT comes complete with pattern, fabrics for the top, backing & binding. Batting NOT included. KIT can be found in the SewModDesigns Etsy shop. Finished quilt measures 40″x40″.

And don’t forget…a posted tutorial on how to add the optional flange can be found by clicking HERE.

Come and get em’ y’all!
