It’s embarrassing to admit, but I watch reality TV. The Bachelor, can’t get enough America’s Next Top Model, and I’m absolutely glued to the Real Housewives on Bravo. I seriously wanna be a housewife in the O.C.
So it’s no surprise that Monday nights around here have become girls night. Susan and I get together and have a little wine, a little food, and a little gossip. Now that Dancing with the Stars is almost over, we can get to the good stuff..The Bachelorette. With The bachelor being such a disappointment last season for letting Brad have a second chance at it, we’ve been jonesing for the Bachelorette to start. Ugh…Brad…Seriously? What did he say all season…”can I ask you a question?” and was constantly consulting his therapist? …ugh again.
Now, we don’t take these things too seriously. We mostly get together to hang. We tend to provide the comic relief because some of the things these people do are just plain whack-a -doodle and I find it necessary to point it out and poke fun. For instance, that guy wearing the mask on tonights show…enough said. We’re kinda like that show Mystery Science Theater, where that guy and his robot are constantly wise cracking through the show. Hey Susan, we could be on cable!
It’s our little reality break. So, we started our little break at noon with some strawberry waffles and homemade whipped cream.
We met back up at 7:oo for the Dancing finale part 1. I made us some Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. No wine tonight, just Chocolate Martinis, after all it is a special occasion:)
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
1C shortening
1C brown sugar
1C sugar
2eggs
1tsp each of vanilla, salt and soda
1-1/2C flour
3C oats
1C raisins or cranberries
Mix all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned, 10-12 minutes.
Easy peasy goodness!
What? You’d rather have the martini recipe? OK, me too:) I found it at drinksmixer.com.
1- 1/2 shots creme de cacao
1/2 shot vodka
2- 1/2 shots 1/2 & 1/2

Dancing with the Stars! Go Hines and Kym! But I love Max. When will he ever get a winning partner? Other than Dancing, Amazing Race is my only reality TV indulgence :)

TV gets on my nerves, lol. I never watch EXCEPT, on Saturday mornings. I love to sit in bed with my computer and a cup of coffee and watch the sewing shows. I know it’s selfish, but even if I’ve been up for hours, cooked breakfast and showered, I still like to get my coffee, curl up and watch. That is my one hour of ME time!

Wow Kelly. I wish I was as good as you. Then maybe my cable bill wouldn’t be so expensive!

Awesome post – and I love the title btw. I absolutely love haning with you and rippin all these folks apart – I admit! I’m for Hines and Kym as well (you know that) and I’m thinking “we’re going to have a lot to rip on in this next Bachelorette”……thanks for the whole day of goodies :)

I mostly watch TCM (classic movies)….a hopeless romantic! Give me a Cary Grant movie any day! Only one network show for me, The Office…and now that Michael Scott has left, I’ll have to see whether it’ll keep my interest…but there are always reruns of the old ones…and I always have a dozen or so in my DVR. Finally, I watch one reality show… Project Runway! My DIL and I email each other our picks every week.
Oh, those treats looking amazing, and I love the little mats under the waffles :-)

Those strawberry waffles look so delicious!! Love the place mats too.
I haven’t watched Dancing with the Stars at all or the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. I was watching American Idol until my rock star, James, was voted off. I like watching Survivor, more for the contests than the contestants and ’cause I like Jeff’s dimples :)
Now it’s the hockey playoffs……GO CANUCKS!!!
