Happy Friday everyone. Have you recovered from the Halloween candy high? I was good this year and only had 1 piece! But it’s not due to will power, but a head cold and I can’t taste a thing:(

Paige’s kitty “baby” is featured in a kitty quilt contest. She’s adorable, all posey on the long arm. What a great pic Paige. I hope she wins.
Will you help Baby win too? Vote now!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Here’s a real treat for all of you Christmas Vacation lovers. This is one of my favorite movies of all time! Corny, I know, but I grew up watching all the Chevy Chase movies and I gotta say LMAO!

The Halloween theme this year at Paige’s work is Christmas Vacation. They each picked a character and gathered some props. This is just the thing to turn my frown upside down for the day:)

Hi Everyone! Our friend Vicki over a Accio Fabrics is having a fabric moving sale. If you’re in the ChicagolLand area, stop by. She has some great deals and is letting go of a lot of great finds!

Cool Kelly hosted us this Sunday for our monthly SewMod sew-in. She has a new place in the city and we couldn’t wait to see it.

I recently purchased an iPhone which I’m totally in LOVE with. I mean seriously in love with and addicted to. It’s the best thing since sliced bread:))
I took a lot of pics with it yesterday so I thought I’d do a day in pictures for y’all. Give you a glimpse into our get-togethers. Here we go!

A New Project

It’s so hard to diet when all of your friends are darn good cooks! “Let’s make a pie” says my bestie friend Susan over cocktails at her house. “Ok”, who am I to argue with someone who wants to give my drinks and dessert, right?

Lemon Meringue Pie…yummm!

I must say we whipped this beauty up pretty fast and it was very tasty:)

Here’s the link for the recipe  if your in the mood for pie too…Grandma’s Lemon Meringue Pie

While we were waiting to taste our creation, I flipped through a well used and loved recipe book she got when she was first married.

Susan is from the deep south of Alabama. Being from Oklahoma, I can appreciate the comfort foods this book had to offer, at least some of them. I’m not about to eat Brains or Fried Frog Legs but I will eat Fried Biscuits and Fried Okra:)

I came across this cute recipe for “Preserving” Children I thought you might enjoy.

I’m a lucky girl! I sent my mom the supplies to make this envelope by CrabApple Hill, which I had every intention of making at some point in my life. I guess I got tired on waiting on me and she’s so darned good at it. I love wool items but I just can’t bring myself to enjoy Thank goodness she picks up my slack and completes them for me!

I don’t know how else to describe it but beautiful!

Lots of embroidery and beading on it. Intricate work between all of the cutting, attaching rick rack, and buttons.

It’s pretty big. It measures 9″ x 15″ and holds everything you’d need for a trip, which is perfect for me! A place for scissors, a pen, needles. It has an envelope inside for a small notepad or your flosses. It even has a pincushion.

A this is so clever…the needle case is detachable for smaller projects.

And mom, if you’re wondering what I’ll be sending home next for you to work on, I’ve already got something picked out! I just can’t help myself.

Thanks for all the kind and encouraging comments left for the Celebration Giveaway! We really appreciate every one of our customers and blog followers. Random.Org picked #44.

While I was making this Hootie & Friends Quilt I came across an error I previously missed during my pattern testing. Exactly why I should have someone else test my patterns. Sometimes you’ve made something so many times, it becomes easy to overlook the obvious.

The pattern reads to use 16-1/2″ square for the center and to cut (2) 16″ & (2) 16-1/2″ strips. It should read to cut (2) 16-1/2″ strips & (2) 18-1/2″ strips. Take the 16-1/2 strips and add to the sides of the center. Last, adding your 18-1/2″ strips to the top and bottom.

I’m sorry & I hope I haven’t caused any inconveniences for everyone that bought the pattern and kit. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions regarding our patterns.

Here’s Hootie in Pink. I made this for Susan, who is expecting her first niece in the family! Yay, finally a girl to make things for!

Isn’t she a cutie?
