Let’s get to know each other better. I’ve met lots of wonderful people through social media and I’d like to get to know you too!
My favorite pastime these days is, of courses, Pinterest. You can find me as Lorrie McKey if you search by name for pinners. I love to collect and add to my boards. It’s like shopping, without the commitment. I have lots of quilt pics to browse through and hopefully we can inspire each other. My favorite thing to pin is crochet ideas and retro bikes!
Do you Instagram? I find instagram to be lots of fun and it’s not only a great way to share ideas, but know each other on a more personal level. Instagram is the fun of the social media world. You can post food, what you’re working on that day, your puppy, whatever you want..even the goofy pics! You can me here as @SmorieLorrie.
I know y’all are on Facebook! So let’s hook up there. I post frequently and showcase what’s coming up and going on at SewMod. You’ll find great ideas and hopefully we can start being ‘friends’. Now head over and push that ‘Like’ button for ‘SewModDesigns‘!

The meeting takes place at the Antioch Township Center at 1625 Deep Lake Rd Lake Villa, IL 60046. It is directly behind the Lakes Area High School. 6:30-9:00
Yes folks, this is where I spent most of my time! We vacationed at Susan’s sis-in-laws home. We had a Lexus, pool, bar, home, food, cute pups..the whole nine yards! She was very generous with everything! I can’t even tell y’all how much fun I had. It’s impossible to put into words. I’m so grateful that I had this opportunity!
One of our days was spent in the Hollywood & Beverly Hills area. We did some shopping and lunch.
We went to Disneyland! I’ve never been to either parks so my main goal this day, besides having a blast, was the teacups:)
Spent some time in the Huntington Beach/Newport Beach area.
Made a seashell heart for someone special;)
And caught a glimpse or two of a surfer..lol
Check out the cute pups roaming the house. Every time the yorkie would get in a little trouble he’d hide in the chow! Lol..so cute.
We had sushi, experienced a drive thru liquor store and ate some famous Sprinkles Cupcakes. Did I mention I had fun yet?
We spent days by the pool and nights by an outdoor fireplace. I saw palm trees, beautiful people, met some new friends, and had more laughs than you can shake a stick at!
And then my wonderful week was over:(
But there was still time for one more drink at the airport while I wear my ears and remember all the fun times I was blessed with!

It’s late. I’m still up so I figured I’d blog. Don’t expect a novel though. I can get kinda loopy without sleep. I’m definitely the girl who needs her beauty rest!

Neighbor bff Susan and I are always up to antics! People are starting to recognize us in stores. We’re probably on the “watch” list..lol. We’ve even had one guy at Caputos say..”hey, I know you two”…oops. What can I say? We’re hilarious! Well, we’re probably more annoying. But we have a great time together. Here’s us at a shop in Woodstock. They had a Alice In Wonderland display & if you know me, I can’t help but try anything on my head! “We’re all mad here”.
Have you seen all the cute fabric out there with the Matryoshka dolls on it. This is most certainly my new obsession! Did you see this one on Zoe on ” New Girl”? Love, love, love! If you’re not watching that…get right on it!

Better late than never, right?
I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas break. I spent mine in OKC again. My brother finally tied the knot with his long time girlfriend and I have an amazing new sis-in-law. A fun, country wedding held in a cozy barn where they stable their horse. She looked beautiful and this is my favorite pic of her on her horse Joker.
They had a cute & tasty cupcake tree with a top cake that resembled birch wood. Her dad made that stand! Isn’t that awesome!
I just had to show everyone her bouquet. It was so creative and I’d never seen anything like it. They had taken pins and broaches from her family members collections and poked them into a Styrofoam ball. So sparkly, and very pretty. I loved it! Something old and new:)
My date for the wedding was my bff, Angela…aka lala. Lala was the name my son, Russell gave her when he was bitty because he couldn’t say Angela. BTW, he STILL calls her that and he’s almost 18…so cute! We had a great time.
Congratulations Tommy & Jamie! This is a great way to start 2013 off!
