I hope y’all had a great time last night with family and friends. I spent the time with some friends in the neighborhood. I’m no party animal. I like to be in my pajamas when that ball drops.
Both, Susan and I are from the lower half of the US. Her being from Alabama and me from Oklahoma. So we decided to end the year with our favorite food…fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy. It was the best dinner ever and the most fattening. But who cares right….we were in our pj’s:)
Oh, and I forgot, we also had banana cream pie after.
I’m so glad someone finally transplanted up here from the south!
I’m going to try and send the Sooners some good luck today for the Fiesta Bowl game against the Huskies.

Lorrie ,it looks like you and Susan had a wonderful “down home” country dinner Pauls Deen would have been proud of! Our South Georgia New Year’s Eve started with all of the men hanging empty soda and beer cans onto a big bush to make a target tree. Then they passed around the pellet guns and shot at the cans before we had a meal of chili and hot dogs cooked on the open fireplace. It was a beautiful warm night by the fire and we were all home in bed by 10 PM.We watch the last of the Florida State game which they won, I hope your Sooners win today.

Gail that actually sounds fun! Our weather permitted us to sit outside for a bit also, and now were back to being miserably cold. But you come to expect that when you live in Chicago.
