TGIF and I really mean that! So glad the weekend is approaching. Paige and I have been busy bees getting ready for a quilt demo at one of our local quilt guilds. We will be at the McHenry Country Quilters Guild on April 4th. Come see us if you can. We will be showing off all the new fabrics, doing a trunk show and a demo on English Paper Piecing and machine pieced hexagons. We’d love to see you!

Speaking of the newest fabrics that I’ve had the pleasure of feasting my eyes on

This is Hello Gorgeous from Windham Fabrics. Playful mod prints just in time for spring!

Speaking of playful…Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches latest line came in last week called Folk Tale. Lots of woodland creatures, cute hedgehogs, birdies and fairies. I just love her stuff. Definitely check out her blog for inspiration, especially if you’re an embroiderer like myself.

Geeky Chic from Riley Blake has me pretty stoked to make something fun. Like a bag or placemats from the TV fabric. Very retro..

I’d love to hear your ideas on what you think these Riley Blake fabrics would be cute made into! Leave a comment with your idea and I’ll draw a name for a giveaway with a half yard of each Geekly Chic we have. Fun stuff peeps! I look forward to hearing them.

Giveaway runs from Friday, March 22 thru Thursday, March 28th, 2013. I’ll draw and announce the winner on Friday the 29th.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend everyone!

Hey friends! Hope everyone is swell:-)
We have lots of new fabrics in the shop which I’m very excited to share with y’all.

Pat Bravo from Art Gallery has been busy designing more wonderful prints. This new line is called Carnaby Street. Designed in mind with the “swinging London” movement of the 60’s. Her line reflects “groovy blooms, strong geometrics, and liberty-esque florals”.

Check out this print called Brit Boutique Royal.

Jeni Baker has designed her first line for Art Gallery Fabrics called Color Me Retro. You might know her as the blogger from In Color Order. Inspired by retro kitchenware from the 50’s and 60’s.

Kitchens curtains come to mind….so cute!

Next up, new fabrics from Blend. Global Bazaar which features spice colored prints from a melting pot of destinations.

And these two called Keiko Pink & Pine Stickers.

Riley Blake sent up these adorable prints with coordinating fabrics and charm squares. This line is Happily Ever After. Perfect for that little happy princess of yours!

All of these prints are in the Etsy shop. Head on over and check ’em out!

So, my lack of blogging in the latter part of 2012 is embarrassing to say the least. I was busy though, I promise. I’d hate to think you guys thought I was just goofing off and being unproductive so I’ve gathered a few pics of some of the projects/fun things that we were up to.

Here we go… This is a commission quilt we made for a customer we met at Madison this year. Made for her granddaughter, Mimi. It’s a modified Sassafras. I tagged this one “I’m a Barbie girl”. It was so so very pink and girly!

This

Became a very popular one of these…

Did a lot of daydreaming about one of these…

All of those hexies I made became one of these…Is this the cutest place mat or what. Still workin’ on my 2nd one! This was a sample for when we were asked to vend at a local Modern Quilt Guild. We did a demo on hand and machine hexies.

We made a commissioned breast cancer throw for someone’s Christmas gift.

Started a spool quilt with Elsie’s Girl, Shelley, which we work on weekly. This is my progress so far…

I had some life changing decisions thrown…definition(Pushed or forced violently and suddenly into a particular state.) upon me. Which caused this…

And let’s just say this…you can’t hide from Karma peeps. At least I’m hoping anyway;) More on that subject at a later date.

Spent a total of 3 weeks over the last 2 months like this. Which probably was a result from all of the stress caused by the above…

Had a Christmas crafting party..

And we made these cute button trees…This one’s mine.

And this is Paige’s..

New fabrics arrived at the shop. We now have all of the Oval ELements in stock and this great new line from Blend called Gabbie. You can find it here…

Did some of this…

But then ate a lot of this..

We found a perfect cupcake stand for SewMod. So we ate even more of this deliciousness just to decorate the stand….

Paige and I went shopping and found these SewMod Christmas decorations in our colors…

That matched these trees! How could we possibly resist…It’s Christmas, SewMod Style!

Spent some time catching up with the nephews in OKC…

And finally made more progress on my December fun project, Rendezvous..

Whew, 2 months of blogging done! Here’s to a great 2013! We made a lot of progress this year and we couldn’t have done it without all of your support. We made wonderful friends and met so many people thru social media and our experiences at the quilt shows and local guilds. Thank you everyone! We are looking forward to another exciting year!

You didn’t think I went there just to sell my fabric goodies did you? Of course I had to make my way through all of the great booths this year. There were several modern ones this time to keep me occupied! I blew my budget!

Kaffe fabric from a shop called Some Art Fabric. They carried a lot of the Kaffe ribbon too!

More Kaffe from a shop called Material Girl Fabrics. And my ribbon is the same print!

More fabrics from Material Girl Fabrics that I couldn’t pass up:)

Cute VW campers & some groovy guitars.

Check out this adorable pattern from Atkinson Designs. Make your own fabric glitter houses for Christmas! I also picked up my favorite presser foot, a clear open-toed foot. Mine is missing and I’m pretty sure that my son has sucked it up in the vacuum. I guess if you ask a teen to clean, you’d better have the floor picked up first! I also got these Swatch Buddies. A reusable fabric swatch fan kit for when you’re out looking for fabrics for that special quilt and you don’t want to carry around all those fat quarters!

A wool kit from Primitive Gatherings, from their book Summer Gatherings. Look out mom. This one is headed your way;)

I don’t want to forget to show this adorable new line that just arrived from Blend fabrics called Animal Parade! Sooo freakin’ adorable! It’s available in the Etsy shop along with coordinating prints.

Get it while it lasts. It seems to already be a popular line!

Till next time peeps! Enjoy your cooled down weekend coming up!

Almost.

I did get some work done this week. I managed to do some finishes and start a new Christmas quilt. Christmas.Shocking. I know:) Love me some Christmas and what better time than July with this scorching heat wave than to sit in an air conditioned studio and wish for cooler temperatures. So that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I’m going to make you wait for the newest one I just finished. I’m waiting for Paige to work her quilty magic on it before I reveal. But here’s what I’ve done so far this week….

I added this cute Alpine Wonderland Christmas Quilt kit to Etsy yesterday. We used the Summer Tweets quilt pattern that Paige and I designed because it showcases large scale prints and the main fabrics in Alpine Wonderland are so darn cute I couldn’t bear to cut it up. Kit comes with the free pattern.

Paige quilted it in an all over stipple.

Chain Reaction is finally ready and added to Etsy as well. This is one of my faves! Very modern looking. We used all of the Art Gallery prints we had in stock to create a scrappy modern quilt. Paige picked an excellent all over quilt design to enhance the look. Kona white and Kona Ash Grey are the coordinating solids.

And last, I hung the finished Sassafras quilt in my living room. Paige also did an all over design on this since it was so busy but added some special touches to the cone flowers.

Today I’m off with Shelley over at Elsie’s Girl for the downtown Crystal Lake Sidewalk Sale. I hope I come home with lots of good finds and bargains to share with you! Talk soon!

I haven’t been this excited about a fabric line in quite some time, except of course all of the Christmas fabrics we got in the shop. Lilly Belle is by Bari J. for Art Gallery fabrics. It’s her first design for them and I’d have to say she did a great job. I’m in love!

If I have to narrow it down, here’s some of my fave’s.

Also arriving was Vintage Summer by Little Yellow Bicycle for Blend fabrics.

We plan on using this line to make and kit up some from the pattern ‘Rome‘, which I showed y’all in a post from Market.

This would make a great summer quilt. We also have the Arbre de Noel quilt pattern which will soon be kitted with the Tinsel fabrics from Blend also.

Two more Christmas fabrics arrived yesterday. I just couldn’t help myself when I saw theses two available from Riley Blake. They would make great bidings and fillers that could be used with just about any Christmas line. They are part of the Santa’s Workshop line.

All of these fabrics can be found in the Etsy shop. Enjoy all of the beautiful weather everyone. Have a great weekend!

TGIF everyone! Our last shipment of Christmas fabric arrived in the other day. Alpine Wonderland by Riley Blake. Sheri McCulley created this line and I’m a huge fan of her work! I find myself staring at the bolts when I’m in the studio. What am I going to do with this awesomeness?!

The little deer are sooo cute! And that sleigh, oh my..

The tree fabric has sweet little critters in it too.

The Alpine Wonderland print is adorable. Can you tell I’m swooning over this line?

Check out all the fabrics in our Etsy store.

Another sweet line we got in this week is Dress Up Days by Riley Blake. Cute scooters and little chevron prints. And everyone knows I can’t resist a bicycle with a basket of flowers:)

We moved some fabrics into the sale section on Etsy also. Head over and take a look. All LakeHouse, Pick A Bunch, and Anthology fabrics are now marked down. Great prices especially if your looking for a backing for a quilt.

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the awesome summer weather!

Yummies….Paige picked up Auriful 50wt. designer threads. One collection by Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts called Over The Rainbow & the other one is Sarah Vedeler’s Silk Hearts collection.

A sample of Cosmo floss from the Lecien booth. I think I would have gone crazy in this booth!

A bundle from Adorn It Fabrics..

All kinds of freebies..

Two Candy samples from Moda..

A collection of Westminster fabrics bundled by Jessica Sloan from Remnants: Fiber [Culture], along with the postcard style quilt patterns by Villa Rosa Designs.

I’ve enjoyed spending this holiday weekend sharing Paige’s trip to Spring Quilt Market with you. I hope we’ve inspired everyone to start some new projects!

Here’s a couple of patterns for quilts we’re going to place an order from a company called Metropolitan Quilt. I love the design on this one. So many possibilities! This one is Rome.

And a cute Christmas one Abre de Noel.

This is a quilt by Sue Daley….oh, my…

Check out these cool quilts for boys. Looks like something my son would like. This is the ‘Crazy Old Ladies’ Booth.

Patty Young from ModKid.

Violet Craft had some beautiful fabrics and quilts. I love the yellow that they used as their backdrop.

Let’s not forget Amy Butler’s booth.

Paige brought some samples home from a new company called Adorn It. Very nice fabrics.

An applique explosion in ‘Don’t Look Now’s’ booth. It really amazes me!

Big Blocks, Big Style by GE Designs booth.

And this booth by Green Bee. Love the circles!

Tomorrow I’ll show you all the goodies Paige brought back with her. See you then!

I asked Paige to visit a few of my favorite designer’s booths and take some pics for me. Here’s Bunny Hill’s booth. So cute!

Check out  V & Co.’s Vanessa Chistenson’s latest line by Moda. Paige brought a sample from her booth home. I’m definitely going to be ordering some of this for myself!

The Fig Tree booth is beautiful as always..

I would love to find the time to complete these little postage stamp quilts.

I love both of these quilts by Cotton Way.

Cute totes by Serendipity Studios..

And what a clever idea for framed art from pieces of scrap fabric..

I could use up a lot of my scraps on a cute flower quilt like this one. This quilt is called Tessie from Under The Garden Moon.

Or how about making a fluffy throw rug from your scraps? This was Art Gallery’s Pat Bravo’s booth.

Check back tomorrow. More pics coming your way!
