We’re gearing up for the big show y’all. Madison Quilt Expo is only a few weeks away and were busier than heck getting things ready to make this years’ show a bigger success than last year. Many peeps have stepped up to help us make our goal. There is a mass frenzy of kitting and cutting. There’s so much fabric flying I thought we’d lose Daisy in the chaos..lol.

Our biggest seller is Art Gallery’s Oval Elements. The perfect filler & we have every color cut into fat quarters and bundled just waiting to find a new home. It’s a bundle of eye candy!….Take me please….

Adorable right? These owls whip up in no time and we have about 30 kits made. Halloween or for a child’s room. Contact me if you’d like first dibs on one. They come with a free pattern and are only $7.25!

And this baby bundle called Glimma will soon grow up to be a Cannon Beach quilt.

I have lots more to show you but if you know me by now, you realize I’m a little OCD when it comes to showing y’all the quilts unless they are completely finished. So I’m working on a few bindings over the next coupla days and hopefully be back soon to tease you with more quilty love!

It’s summer and I bet y’all are out having fun and soaking up the sun, right? Unless your spending a couple of weeks in OKC like I am and it’s too dang hot to go outside! So I’m using my time wisely and preparing for our big show this September in Madison, WI. The Quilt Expo is only about a month and a half way and I should be grateful for the heat keeping me pent up inside because I have tons to do! I brought along all the makings for a quilt we will be kitting called ‘Rosalie’ made from all the new Art Gallery fabrics we recently received. My mom and I spent a few days making this and I gotta say…LOVE IT!

I’ll post the others as I get them finished. My next project is a Christmas quilt. Christmas in July. Maybe that will cool me down.

My mom always works on embroidery when she’s sittin’ around watching TV in the evenings. She’s made some really pretty tea towels lately.

And I just had to show ya the wool table mat on her kitchen table.

Keep cool y’all and check back for more new quilts!

Yes folks, this is where I spent most of my time! We vacationed at Susan’s sis-in-laws home. We had a Lexus, pool, bar, home, food, cute pups..the whole nine yards! She was very generous with everything! I can’t even tell y’all how much fun I had. It’s impossible to put into words. I’m so grateful that I had this opportunity!

One of our days was spent in the Hollywood & Beverly Hills area. We did some shopping and lunch.

We went to Disneyland! I’ve never been to either parks so my main goal this day, besides having a blast, was the teacups:)

Spent some time in the Huntington Beach/Newport Beach area.

Made a seashell heart for someone special;)

And caught a glimpse or two of a surfer..lol

Check out the cute pups roaming the house. Every time the yorkie would get in a little trouble he’d hide in the chow! Lol..so cute.

We had sushi, experienced a drive thru liquor store and ate some famous Sprinkles Cupcakes. Did I mention I had fun yet?
We spent days by the pool and nights by an outdoor fireplace. I saw palm trees, beautiful people, met some new friends, and had more laughs than you can shake a stick at!

And then my wonderful week was over:(
But there was still time for one more drink at the airport while I wear my ears and remember all the fun times I was blessed with!

I’m back from a super fun and very relaxing time in the sun! I spent a week in Cali with one of my bff’s, Susan! We went to Disneyland, saw the beach, and spent an afternoon on Rodeo Drive…oh my it’s tough to come back isn’t it?

New fabrics arrived in the shop while I was out! That always helps get me back in the groove of things..
Too Cute Too Spook by Riley Blake

And Bijoux.. Which is Bari J.’s new line from Art Gallery Fabrics.

<a

We had a couple of bolts from Kaufman also come in. You know how I can't resist a Halloween print, right?

Lots more on the way also. We are starting to prep for 2 big shows coming up this fall. Be sure to check back for samples and quilts!

Later this week I’m going to share more of my pics from Cali. Just in case you yourself can’t get away right now. I’m gonna be sharing the love folks. Cause I’m hooked on Cali!

Later y’all!

Stephanie
I love home made make up bags. :)

Congrats Stephanie! Send me your info and I’ll ship your fabric so you can get busy on those makeup bags!

Have a great weekend everyone!

TGIF and I really mean that! So glad the weekend is approaching. Paige and I have been busy bees getting ready for a quilt demo at one of our local quilt guilds. We will be at the McHenry Country Quilters Guild on April 4th. Come see us if you can. We will be showing off all the new fabrics, doing a trunk show and a demo on English Paper Piecing and machine pieced hexagons. We’d love to see you!

Speaking of the newest fabrics that I’ve had the pleasure of feasting my eyes on

This is Hello Gorgeous from Windham Fabrics. Playful mod prints just in time for spring!

Speaking of playful…Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches latest line came in last week called Folk Tale. Lots of woodland creatures, cute hedgehogs, birdies and fairies. I just love her stuff. Definitely check out her blog for inspiration, especially if you’re an embroiderer like myself.

Geeky Chic from Riley Blake has me pretty stoked to make something fun. Like a bag or placemats from the TV fabric. Very retro..

I’d love to hear your ideas on what you think these Riley Blake fabrics would be cute made into! Leave a comment with your idea and I’ll draw a name for a giveaway with a half yard of each Geekly Chic we have. Fun stuff peeps! I look forward to hearing them.

Giveaway runs from Friday, March 22 thru Thursday, March 28th, 2013. I’ll draw and announce the winner on Friday the 29th.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend everyone!

This week, Shelley and I went to our local quilt shop, A Touch Of Amish, for a preview of a future club they’ll be having featuring Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts. We both love her work so we were pretty excited to go! She has designed lots of patterns using different techniques and even has her own Batik fabric lines.

A Touch Of Amish will be having a monthly demo on several of her patterns featuring the different techniques she uses. Edyta does a lot of appliqué work and now she has come out with the pieces already pre-cut with a laser for you. It even has the Steam-a-Seam on the back for fusible appliqué. A bit expensive but if you want to do machine appliqué and don’t have the time for the intricate cutting, then these would be perfect for you!

If you’ve been following our blogs, or Flickr sites, you’ve probably noticed that Shelley and I have been working almost weekly on Edyta’s Spool Quilt pattern. We’re having a lot of fun with this. Almost done too! We only have the border to cut and appliqué. I can’t wait to finish and have them quilted.

We recently had the opportunity to see her in person at our local guild. She is an amazing woman to say the least! She is so interesting and creative. And I have to tell ya…I think I can be a bit ADD listening to speakers. I tend to wander mentally. Let’s keep that between us, ok? But anyway, I don’t think for one second I wandered. I was fascinated actually. I’m pretty sure I had chills at one point. If you ever get the chance to see her speak, GO!! You won’t regret it.

One pattern I’d like to work on next is the Dancing Umbrellas quilt. Maybe a little polka dots or little chevrons in it to brighten up the umbrellas. I want to make them colorful.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to take on the amazing opportunity A Touch Of Amish is offering but do check out Shelley’s blog, Elsie’s Girl for all her progress. I’m sure it will be fabulous! I’m so jealous Shelley!

Thanks Ryan!
It’s late. I’m still up so I figured I’d blog. Don’t expect a novel though. I can get kinda loopy without sleep. I’m definitely the girl who needs her beauty rest!

How about we just do some pics? It might be safer;-)
Neighbor bff Susan and I are always up to antics! People are starting to recognize us in stores. We’re probably on the “watch” list..lol. We’ve even had one guy at Caputos say..”hey, I know you two”…oops. What can I say? We’re hilarious! Well, we’re probably more annoying. But we have a great time together. Here’s us at a shop in Woodstock. They had a Alice In Wonderland display & if you know me, I can’t help but try anything on my head! “We’re all mad here”.

Have you seen all the cute fabric out there with the Matryoshka dolls on it. This is most certainly my new obsession! Did you see this one on Zoe on ” New Girl”? Love, love, love! If you’re not watching that…get right on it!

Latest quilt block obsession you ask? Kim McLean’s Lollypop Trees!

Here’s a fun little collage I put together on a different night that I was losing beauty sleep

And let me just leave you with this…

It’s 3 am. Now I’m going to bed!
