Have you been busy as elves getting ready for Christmas? I have my tree up and and my house decorated, a bit of shopping accomplished but I’m still working on those handmade items. There’s still time though, don’t panic! This is what I tell myself daily:(

We did manage to make this super cute Christmas Elves table runner.

The runner is made from the pattern Which Witch by Crazy Old Ladies.

Both are available in the Etsy shop and at SewModDesigns.com. We’re having a Christmas Sale this week on all handmade items at SewModDesigns.com and the Etsy shop, 20% off. Don’t miss it!

Another great gift idea for those co-workers, teens, or your BFF is the Little Wallet. We recently finished these up for a friend who plans to share the handmade love with her co-workers.

We have kits available with the crochet flower or buy the pattern and make them from your scraps. They whip up easily and fast!

We pulled together some more fabric bundles to start the week off. After all, what’s better than beginning our week looking a beautiful fabrics!

Paige’s pick includes some Oval Elements, Honey Child, Taza, and Bespoken.

Lorrie’s pick…

I love the warm colors in this bunch that includes Oval Elements, Heirloom, Pick*A*Bunch, Midnight Garden & Bespoken.

As always, SewMod Stacks will be available as 1/2 yard bundles in the Etsy Shop & SewModDesigns.com for 15% off the regular bundle prices.

This weekend went by in a blur! That’s what happens when you’re having fun, I guess. It especially seems to fly by during the holidays too.

Paige and I spent some time this weekend finishing up some projects and working on new ones, which I’ll be showing off this week. Sunday, Paige’s sewing group came over for lunch and a full day of catching up on projects. When you get a group together dedicated to working, a lot gets done.

We also spent some time choosing groups of fabrics, different color combinations and patterns from a variety of lines. Starting with a focus fabric and working different fabrics in with it. I don’t know about you, but I think the fabric company’s amazing marketing has just about left me incapable of mixing and matching my own colors! Don’t get me wrong, I love the way the companies group all their lines together so it’s a no-brainer for us and sometimes I need that, but I also don’t want to lose my ability to do it on my own. Remember when you did do it on your own? No bundles, no pre-matched fat quarter stacks, it was all you?

Paige is a pro at that and is helping me regain my confidence in choosing. So we are going to start showing you some of the lines that we have picked and pulled and put together from the SewMod shop.

We are offering the “pick’s 15% off in Etsy and SewModDesigns.com. Check them out and let us know how we did!

Paige’s Pick

Lorrie’s Pick

Bespoken by Art Gallery Fabrics arrived this week in the Shop. I’m a huge fan of Art Gallery Fabrics. The fabric is high quality and always beautiful and unique. This line is full of vintage florals and retro prints.

Here’s a few of my fave’s..

And the oval elements we received from Art Gallery for fillers coordinates perfectly with Bespoken.

And, yes, yay, hoot and holler, I got my cast off! Doc says I’m healing nicely. Now I’m off to physical therapy today @2. I’m a little nervous. I think it’s gonna hurt, but I’m ready to get back to normal. I have lots of catching up to do:)

I just had to share these 4 new patterns we have in the shop, found here. It’s a seasonal series from Shabby Fabrics.

Winter…. Cute rick rack holly garland, embellished Christmas tree with presents, and a picket fence.

Spring… 3-D pinwheels in the sky, yo-yo flowers, bright and cheery!

Summer…Stars coming from the chimney, a cute scallop border, a flag and a kite in the sky. A patriotic home.

Fall…Giant sunflower, leaves falling, smoke in the chimney, pumkins on the porch, and a crow on the fence. Can you feel the chill in the air?

Of course these arrived just after I broke my arm, so naturally it’s all I think about making. These would fit perfectly on my porch. Definitely on my to-do’s!

Speaking of my arm, I go in Tuesday to see if my cast comes off. Keep your fingers crossed!

Just look at this yumminess that arrived the other day!

Art Gallery Oval Elements

Modern, geometric blenders that are perfect by themselves or added to that favorite project.  I was surprised to find that they coordinated well with many of our existing fabrics.

This is Golden with Plum Victoria by Anthology Fabrics.

And Crocus with a Wrenly fabric, Ingrid in Gypsy.

We bundled them in 1/2 yards and fat quarter stacks. I may have to sneak this one into my personal stash:)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Joel Dewberry’s latest line, Heirloom arrived in the shop this week!

Pieces from the Amber collection.

And the Sapphire collection

I love that sky blue one…so pretty!

Also new patterns, including the ever so popular Swoon, by Thimble Blossoms, and a new one from A Graceful Stitch called Sparkling Starbursts, so head on over and check  ’em out!

We’ve had several phone calls over the past couple of weeks asking if SewMod was a brick and mortar or an online fabric shop. To answer that question, as of right now, we are an online boutique. But if you’re in the area and you want to come by and chat, see the studio and pet the fabric, then just drop us an email. We would love to meet you!

This weekend Paige’s sewing friends will be gathering in the studio to catch up on projects and have some fun so expect lots of show ‘n’ tell next week.

Let’s pray for cooler weather next week…jeez. I’ve been away from my home state of Oklahoma so long that I’d forgotten what hot meant till this week in Chicago. 100 degrees, I’m done with that. I’m spoiled to the mild weather up here now. I think it’s even too hot for the mosquitoes!

Any hoo…have a great weekend everyone & stay cool!

Paige was on vacation the week of the 4th so we sewed, and sewed. We’re trying to get some of the samples and kits ready for the NSQG quilt show that’s coming up in September. It will be our first time vending…exciting! I loved every minute of playing in the new studio. We were super productive and I had no problem getting motivated. Projects finish fast when one person sits and sews and the other pins and irons!

We finished the Pick A Bunch and the Fluttering Butterflies quilts. We made 2 table runners. All will be kitted for the show.

North Garden Dresden Table Runner

And Which Witch Table Runner. The purple comes off really blue in the pics but it’s really a perfectly matched purple to this line. This turned out sooo cute!

A couple of Gumdrops …A couple of friends joined in on the Gumdrop fun. Kathy made hers from the Artful Home fabrics. We love how she fussy cut the green daisy for the top.

And Janet and Paige both picked the Groovy Bugs fabric with aqua Ta-Dot tops…fun, fun fabric!

Several last touches on patterns…all available soon in Etsy.

Summer tweets, which we showed you a few weeks ago.

Fruitcakes

And North Garden Dresden Table Runner

And we had countless ideas and brainstorming sessions and planned out this weeks projects. I’ll be working on the Hoo’s In The Forest quilt. I see a cute appliqued deer and big appliqued strawberries for this project so I’m looking forward to starting this one. Of course that all depends if we can keep the power on in the neighborhood. Lots of outages here..:(

We also had our 1st SewMod meeting in the new studio. It was nice and relaxing. We celebrated a couple of the girls’ birthdays with some wine and I made a cheesecake….I forgot to take a pic…I wish I had though because it was beautiful & yummy! They’re always yummy, but not always beautiful:)

Paige will probably be mad at me but….. everyone wish Paige a Happy Birthday today!!

Tweet, tweet…

Valori Well’s newest line arrived last week! We have 11 bolts. The artwork is what’s really amazing. I was even thinking of stretching some on canvas to hang on the walls.

Aren’t these mamma birds cute?

We spent an entire Saturday ooohing and ahhing over these fabrics & Paige came up with a great pattern design to show off the big prints. The pattern will be available in the Etsy shop next week.

I picked up these rockers for my patio this weekend. The weather has been so nice. This is where you’ll find me if you stop by. So come on over. We can chat and sip some iced tea.

I’ll be looking out for ya:) Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I created our first Etsy Treasury the other night, Cordial Serenity, inspired by the SewMod colors…robins egg blue and chartreuse green. I choose the title based on robins egg being serene and chartreuse being named after a French cordial with a green color.

We’ve been in several Treasuries so I thought it was time for me to return some of the Etsy love. It was time consuming, but fun! To get a better view & description of what the items are, just click on the pic and it will take you to Etsy. I hope y’all enjoy!
