More Pick A Bunch from Kaufman came in this week. We were missing the olives and aquas. These fabrics make me SMILE:) Super soft organic cottons from Nancy Mims.
I’m thinking of making this in the orchids, using the small daisy doodle with the white background as the top portion and the large daisy on the bottom. Sooo sweet!
Or maybe some p.j.’s from the blue daisy doodle would be cute. Lot’s of ideas for this line.
All of these are available in the Etsy Shop. We have lots more patterns too. And this wonderfully, whimsy book …Hatched and Patched’s Some Kind of Wonderful by Annie Downs. Punch needle, applique, embroidery, and patchwork all in one book.
A couple of the projects from the book…
Check ’em out!
And for my personal use..more Halloween fabrics that I stumbled upon at Hancock Fabrics. I kinda went nuts when I saw this cuteness! It’s not that made in China stuff either. It’s soft and good quality fabrics and it goes with some of the Riley Blake Halloween I’ve collected.
These cats are crazy cute!
More cats but my fave in the green print are the little black owls.
And I can’t resist a Halloween party that involves martinis!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Good Morning everyone:)
Hoo’s In The Forest? Cute little deer, wide-eyed owls, hedgehogs, all kinds of forest critters!
And what do they like to eat? ….apples, cherries and strawberries!
The full order, all 23 bolts in this collection, arrived yesterday. It has 4 main colors to it…blues , greens, yellows and pinks, along with some plaids, daisies , and solids.
Cute & whimsy!
We also had some charm squares from Hoo and Christmas Candy come with it.
I hope everyone enjoys their Friday. I’m going to spend mine working on adding these to the Etsy shop and later having dinner with Paige.
Happy sewing!
I patiently await Christmas fabric to arrive.
I eagerly await Christmas fabric to arrive.
I’ve began to stalk the postman:)
My first fabrics arrived the other day….Michael Miller. Some Funky Christmas, Ho Ho Hoot, and Yule Trees.
Just look at these sweet little reindeer. They’re so retro. I’m probably going to kick myself later for not buying a lot more of this in the turquoise. Actually, I’m hoping it’s still available on the bolt. This could be dangerous!
More retro…Peace Christmas. Love it!
This is what I’m stalking right now. Dena Designs Kumari Garden Holiday. Christmas, but doesn’t really have to be, kinda thing. I love that too.
Riley Blake Christmas pre-cuts should be arriving on Wednesday for the Etsy shop. Do you think I can be trusted with them? Hmmm:)
If your not into Christmas, say it isn’t so, then we have new fabrics in the shop. Honey Child by Jennifer Paganelli.
Do you remember this Fabric Friday post? The one which Paige drew Kathy the kitty drawing for her Sweet Pickins’ bag. Kathy brought her bag in for show ‘n’ tell the other day. It turned out purrfect:)
Have a great weekend everyone! Next week Paige will be showing off the awesome batik quilt she designed and, finally, pics of the new quilting studio!
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I was finishing up the studio. I gotta tell ya…I love it! Just a few more things before I show you the pics though.
We have lots more exciting things coming to the Etsy store and we want to share them with you! So today we’re giving away one of the delicious fat quarter sets from Anthology.
Sweet Tooth
So, leave us a comment…tell us what your favorite candy is that makes you have a sweet tooth and you’ll be entered to win!
Mine is Good & Plenty:)
The giveaway runs from Wednesday, June 1st – Wednesday June 8th and is open to everyone, including our international friends. I’ll post the winner June 9th.
Our first official order..from a human, not a computer! It was exhilarating, exciting, scary and hopefully one day will be just another day at the office.
The Rep from Westminster/Free Spirit was at the house yesterday. With the rep, you get to touch the fabric, see the samples. The computer just doesn’t do the actual colors justice. We did have to pick some of the newer releases from the printed swatches because they hadn’t made it to the states yet. Which is why it’s so important to be at market. They have all the fabric samples there.
Now, I’m a planner. I was prepared for this meeting.
Printout out the products we were interested in..check. Ballpark range of the money we were going to spend…check. Ok, I can hear you snickering now.
You definitely get caught up in the moment. So you wanna see what we got a little caught up with?
A few of Honey Child by Jennifer Paganelli
Heirloom by Joel Dewberry
Wrenly by Valorie Wells
And Taza by Dena Designs
We also ordered Kaffe fat quarter sets. And I promise not to bore you with every meeting we have with the Reps:) But I just couldn’t help myself. I had to share our newest fabric adventure. We should also promise our Rep. that we’ll be more decisive next time. There might have been a little too much…”I don’t know, do you like that, do we need that, should we?”
Paige is going to be at a retreat this weekend. Check back on Monday to see what she’s been up to.
Thanks for hanging with us this week and have a great weekend everyone!
I’m struggling with the set up of my new sewing space and running out of room to store the bolts of fabric and supplies that are coming in. We’re been working on storage solutions. Next week neighbor Nick will be back in to do some painting and rearranging. It’s very frustrating for me when I’m not organized so I’m behind on my Birdie BOM for May and I won’t even bore you with projects I’m working on that you’ve already seen, so I thought I’d share some of the Anthology goodness we added to the shop recently.
These fat quarter sets are so yummy I just wanna eat ’em up!
High Society
Sweet Tooth
and Mod Charm
Batiks in 2-1/2″ strip collections
Bali Berries
Tropical Fruits
Hopefully by the end of this week Birdie will be done. I’m using my new Cosmo variegated for the flowers…sooo cute! And Paige is working on a custom batik quilt that maybe we will get a sneak peak of also.
Have a great day everyone!
Halloween arrived on Monday!
I love waiting for the UPS guy. Too bad he doesn’t bring them inside for me though. They’re too heavy to lift so I have to unpack them on my front porch. My neighbor’s probably think I’m just so excited to get packages, I can’t wait to bring them in before I unpack them!
It’s Trick or Treat from Riley Blake. We ordered 7 bolts.
Some ribbon and buttons to match.
And some charms squares.
I think Daisy needs a new Halloween leash out of the tossed candy fabric. That would be so cute!
Have a great weekend everyone and be sure to check back on Monday for the giveaway winner!
I’m pretty sure that both Paige and I are a bit obsessed with dresdens. Paige is working on a quilt that has a giant dredsen in the center and I’m still pluggin away at my embroidered ones. We are planning on having both of those ready by summer. We have high hopes for a quilt show we’d like to enter.
Our latest is the sample we made with the Artful Home Table Runner…I’m in love!
I also made a set of 6 matching napkins to go with it. Both the table runner and napkins have a little extra touch with the teal flange. I think it really sets it off. And Paige’s quilting is awesome as usual!
Of course, I had to make a Christmas one! I used Heather Mulder Peterson’s Christmas line from last year, At Home for the Holidays. I embroidered 6 strand french knots in the middle like a dresden flower. This one isn’t quilted yet but soon will be. It will be available in the Etsy Shop also…that is, if I can part with it:)
We’re also kitting the Artful Home one and it comes with the free pattern! Hopefully I will have these posted on Etsy soon. We’ve been having nothing but rain here and my pics look so harsh with the flash. We need sunshine!
We purchased several bolts from Riley Blake last week.
Some Sugar and Spice. We ordered the main piece to this which has all the red and blue daisies on it but it was already gone. We are learning that the process for buying fabric from manufacturers is ….you snooze, you lose!
And some Happier.
These 2 bolts are so cute. The Happier main has a whole scene going on if you look closely. Birds, butterflies, caterpillars. I just knew when this arrived that I had to embroidery something. I immediately thought how nice it would be to ride my bike along this fabric, so I jotted down some ideas and used the tree and critters as inspiration.
I used some scraps cut into different sizes to raw edge applique at the top. It’s a scrappy sky!
Just a little wall decor for my new studio. It’s going to be so nice to surround my sewing room with inspiring things, like this, fabric, or random pics. You never know what might set you in the right direction to make something unique. I even collected some Halloween scrap-booking papers the other day. I know something creative will come from those. Especially since we expect the Riley Blake Trick or Treat line soon.
Vicki is collecting those little cards that are on the front of Moda’s Layer Cakes packaging. I thought that was a cute idea to inspire her and decorate her studio as well. I’m sure, knowing Vicki, that her collection will be quite large:)
So, tell me do you randomly collect anything besides fabric that inspires you?
Paige’s tuffet was featured in digaliggins Treasury on Etsy titled “Sugar Rush“. Isn’t it a bright a cheery collection? A Treasury is a grouping of favorites in a certian style that a member chooses and creates. Being on a Treasury means added exposure on Etsy, so we’d like to send a big thanks to digaliggins for choosing us!
We would also like to announce last call for the Tuffet Class Sign -Up. Next week we are going to set the dates for the classes. We have one full class and almost a second. If anyone is in the Chicagoland area and would like to have a fun day of sewing and leave with an awesome footstool that you can impress all your neighbors with, then let us know. We would love to meet you!
