We’re so excited!! Our first fabric line came in yesterday!…Yay…happy dance around the living room. Paige came right over after work so that we could share the excitement of opening the package together.
It’s the Heather Mulder Peterson line called Artful Home from Henry Glass.
Paige already has a million ideas running through her creative brain on what to make with this. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.
I think my favorite is the green and blue daisy “bubbles”.
Thanks for all your support and comments. We love sharing our journey with our blogging friends:)
I hope everyone has a chance this weekend to relax and create something special!
Andrea and Vicki came over on Monday to do some sewing, eat, gossip, lust over some new lines of fabric. You know, all those things girls do when we get together:) We can always count on Vicki to have the latest and greatest and if you haven’t seen Fig Tree’s new line, Strawberry Fields, then you must run to the quilt store. Sooo pretty and we’ve determined that it matches my kitchen perfectly…hmmm another project? Yikes!
So, back to my title. I was so easily distracted by the sweetness of those fabrics. Now onto the sweetness of gumdrops.
Can’t stop making gumdrops. So easy, so fun. So cool looking!
Andrea made the 24″ one out of Amy Butler fabric and polka dots and mine of course is the OU one:)
Holy tower of gumdrops!
The cubs one is my fave! It’s going on the Esty site along with the kiddie one.
At least these don’t make you fat.
Enjoy the weekend everyone. I’m going to be busy, busy. I’m rearranging and changing so check back next week to see what I’ve been up to!
Yesterday, Jeanne, my Oklahoma Sista from my Flickr Tea Group asked us how our spring projects were going. Well, Jeanne here’s what I’ve been doing and I’d have to say they are going pretty well. I made these cute tea towels with some of my leftover Grandmother’s Flower Garden blocks.
These make me want tulips, warm weather, and green grass. Speaking of tulips, I was too lazy to plant mine last fall and they’re trying to bloom in my garage! Can you believe that! I did see signs of my Hyacinths coming up yesterday..Yay!
Isn’t that the cutest little embroidered bunny?
So what are you working on to chase away the winter?
I’ve been busy making a couple more of the sewing boxes. I wanted to modern these two up, so I recreated the dresdens that I originally did for Shelley’s row quilt.
I’m totally in love with these. I’m positive that this would make a spectacular dresden quilt. If only I had more time. I’ve been saying that a lot lately!
I did a purple dresden…my fave. I really like the flower background fabric on this one.
Sorry y’all, this one’s already spoken for. The only one hitting Etsy is this super cute hot pink one.
I’ve got a couple more boxes. I’m working on another one with the hand quilted Grandmother’s Flower Garden & a GFG block that’s appliqued on yellow plaid. That one is turning out cute, cute!
Better get back to work. Talk tomorrow y’all!
Paige has been working hard on these awesome bags that we’ve listed on Etsy. They are huge and can hold all your supplies for a sew-in or your pj’s and favorite blankie for a sleepover.
Susan was kind enough to be my supermodel for the day:)
Love, Love, Love this surfer one! I think if we weren’t selling it, she’d have to arm wrestle me for it!
I want one made out of this Michael Miller fabric we posted on Fabric Friday…Knitty Gritty. Wouldn’t that be super cute!
We also listed several Moda Jelly Rolls at great prices. So head on over and take a look.
Happy sewing everyone!
We’ve added some new patterns to our Etsy Shop this week that we’ve tested and think you’ll enjoy! We’ve also placed our first fabric order and hope to have that soon:)
You may remember my demo on the Lil’ Twister table runner I made last November.
Here’s the link if you’d like to review. We got the book Let’s Twist and the Lil’ Twister Pinwheel Tool.
We also have the pattern Flower Welcome from Bloom Creek. This is one of my all time favorite things to make! It sews up fast and is so easy to quilt.
You can use a charm pack or your scraps. I’ve done both. Here’s the scrappy one I made. I added little flower pot buttons to the ends of the flower stems for an extra touch.
And a couple I did using charm packs.
I’ve given them as gifts for Mother’s Day and Birthdays. I even gave one to my quilter one year for Christmas.
Last is the Knotty Baskets Pattern.
This is going to be my project this week. I really want to make one of these, so check back later this week and see what I’ve come up with!
I finally have one of my sewing boxes listed on the Etsy store. I actually cut into..I know, say it isn’t so..the unfinished Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt I was working on to make this box.
I hand stitched everything from the flowers, the quilting, and the covering on the underside of the lid and I gotta tell ya that this is hard to part with. I think it turned out just awesome! It’s made from a vintage sewing machine treadle drawer and I’ve attached a lid that doubles as a pincushion. I use mine behind my machine for easy access to my pins, machine needles, and presser feet. It’s one of the things in my sewing room that is unique.
I’ve made several of these over the years. My mom has one out of an orphan block. My Grandma and my Mom-n-Law also have one. This is a pic of mine…
I also made the yellow one on the left. It turned out sooo cute! I machine appliqued the Grandmother’s Flower onto a cute yellow and purple flowered background and hand embroidered a lazy daisy flower in the center.
I’m choosing not to list this cutie on Etsy because it’s not as perfect as I like my things to be. Its flaw is that it doesn’t seem to close as tightly as the other one and I had to move the hardware on it once. If it were mine, I would love it just the same but I kinda figured that if I’m expecting someone to pay for it, then they expect it to be at least close to perfect. I can’t list something I’m not completely happy with.
I just hate the thought of it not being used and loved by anyone. So I thought I would give it away to anyone who leaves a comment on this post today. I’ll pick the winner and post it tomorrow, Saturday the 19th.
So if you’re interested please let me know. Remember it’s only for today, Friday the 18th.
Have a great weekend!
